Immediate Release: May 8, 2007 VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton University held a dinner and induction ceremony for 24 of its elite student-athletes Tuesday night at the Events Center TAU Clubroom. The group represents BU's second induction class into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. Thirty-seven student-athletes were selected for the inaugural induction in 2006. The athletes, spanning 11 different sports, each have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.40 or higher and are juniors or seniors at Binghamton. The honor society recognizes outstanding academic achievement by intercollegiate varsity letterwinners and its primary purpose is to encourage good citizenship, moral character and friendship among student-athletes. Associate Athletic Director for Student Services Kim King, chapter advisor and Assistant AD Alicia Goode, and Faculty Athletic Representative Dennis Lasser, along with Director of Athletics Joel Thirer, were on hand to congratulate the following student-athletes.
