POSTGAME QUOTES
Rider 79
Binghamton 65
December 2, 2006, Vestal, N.Y. (Events Center)
BINGHAMTON
Head Coach Al Walker
On the game:
"We didn't play as well defensively as we could have. With
the loss of Ian Milne due to illness and then when Duane James
went down we were a little short on the bench."
On Rider's play:
"They are a great shooting team and made some outstanding
shots. The run of 3 three-pointers in a row in the second half
really hurt us."
Mike Gordon, Junior Guard
On the second half:
"We slowed down and
relaxed a little bit in the second half which allowed Rider to
go on a big run. Good teams are able to make runs when they need
them and that's what Rider did. They did a great job of hitting
shots when they needed them."
Duane James, Senior Forward
On his second half injury:
"I went up for a rebound and caught an elbow above my eye.
The training staff did a great job of getting me stitched up
and I was able to get back in the game."
On the team's play:
"We had a few breakdowns defensively in the last 5 or 10
minutes of the game but we will pick each other up from this
loss and we know what we need to work on."
Rider
Coach Tommy Dempsey
On the game:
"I was really worried about this game today. It was our
fourth game in seven days and we lost a heartbreaker on thursday
night. Our kids played great today, if we hadn't we wouldn't
have been able to beat this Binghamton team."
On the halftime talk:
"We knew we needed to work on our transitions and controlling
the ball. I think we did a much better job of that in the second
half." |
